So, Sunday night, The Hubs and I had joined an event being hosted for an Alton area photography group at the McPike Mansion, one of the most haunted houses in the Midwest and once featured on a television program documenting the Scariest Places on Earth. And, now that she’s got some free time, as her run as Sandy in “Grease” is over, The Girl Child decided to come along and hang out with her weird old parents! Which provided me the perfect opportunity to get a unique portrait of her, just in time for Halloween.
While it was an event for a photography group, there was, of course, a medium and a seance in the stone cellar (on Thursday, I’ll share my pictures of the areas we were allowed to access). The medium handed out dowsing rods for a half-dozen of us or so to use during the seance. I was picked and after a few minutes, I handed them to The Girl Child to try.
We had a great time and we are looking forward to a return visit. In the meantime, I’ll finish up the pictures I have of the event and share them here on Thursday!
(I would love for you to come back to visit, so please SUBSCRIBE using one of the buttons I have up there at the top on the left. And be sure to find me on Facebook for behind the scenes stuff and general goofiness. I’m on Twitter, too, but be warned – I have been known to accidentally tweet-bomb during baseball season!)
