The Girl Child has been in rehearsals as Sandy for Grease for several weeks now and it finally opened on Friday! So, this past Saturday, I got to shoot the play to make a keepsake disk for family and friends and anyone else who would like to buy one as a remembrance of a great production! It was a challenging shoot, considering I was limited to my movements and the lighting was just what you would expect. But, I’m going to share a few of my favorite shots here! (And, if you are in St. Louis, check out MHS Theatre to buy tickets for one of the four remaining performances this weekend! It’s a fantastic show!)
And some of my best shots of The Girl Child herself:
She sewed that top herself. LOL Multi-talented, she is. Honestly, I could not be more proud of her. She works her butt off at her craft and it shows. She never fails to give 110% to every performance, from the lead in Grease to the small roll she had in the summer community theater – no roll is unworthy of her best efforts. She’s a talent and I’m not saying that just because I’m her mom and I love her (even though I am and I do. LOL)
Zooming in from the back row, with no light, no flash, and stuck in one seat is a nice little photography challenge, believe you me. All in all, I thought this one came out pretty decent.
This is one of my daughter’s favorites from the shoot.
And, of course, it’s not Grease without Greased Lightening!
This is just a fraction of the shots I’ve got for the disk, so if you were in the area and saw the play, swing by the lobby and pick up a copy. I can’t say enough how fantastic this production is! If you haven’t seen it and you have a chance to this weekend, come check it out! You won’t be sorry!

And be sure to find me on Facebook for behind the scenes stuff and general goofiness. I’m on Twitter, too, but be warned – I have been known to accidentally tweet-bomb during baseball season!)
