Missouri Mines

Hey, there! Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! This weekend, The Hubs and I, along with Silent Jay, took a trip out to visit the Missouri Mines historic site. I’d never been there before, so I was eager to see what was there. And hopefully, get some good pictures! See if you can spot Silent Jay and The Hubs in the following two pictures!
St. Louis, MO, Missouri, Mines, Mining, historic site, HDR,
The buildings are part of the old St. Joe’s Minerals Corporation, from a period of time when the Missouri Lead Belt supplied 80% of the nation’s mined lead and which closed in 1972. The buildings, roughly aged over time, are massive and particularly photogenic. If you closely at the picture above, you can spot Silent Jay in the lower right-hand corner, just to give you a sense of scale!

In this picture, you can just make out The Hubs down there, just beneath the horizontal covered ramp. It’s a pretty cool place and I’ll be sharing some more pictures I got at the site this week!

(I would love for you to come back to visit, so please SUBSCRIBE using one of the buttons I have up there at the top on the left. And be sure to find me on Facebook for behind the scenes stuff and general goofiness. I’m on Twitter, too, but be warned – I have been known to accidentally tweet-bomb during baseball season!)
