During our Day in the City, I simply had to get pictures of these guys. I’ve grown up seeing these fellows in the corners of the Anheuser-Busch buildings. My grandpa used to work downtown and, every time he’d take me to work with him, we would pass these fellows. I can’t imagine St. Louis without these corner-dwellers!
First, His Majesty the Eagle – tell me this is not one royal looking bird! And he’s freaking huge in real life!
My absolute favorite guy is after the jump. He’s been just sitting around, drinking beer and eating, for longer than anyone living remembers anymore! LOL
The hungry guy is my all-time, hands-down favorite of the Anheuser-Busch gargoyles (there are several). When I was little, I considered him mine. (Full disclosure: I still kinda do. )
As a little person, as soon as I saw him, I knew we were almost at Grandpa’s office and that meant pretzels! Grandpa worked at Rold-Gold Foods back in those days and I used to visit all the people who worked in the plant, while he was up in his office. I’d always find someone who would give me pretzels hot off the conveyor belt. If I could have just gotten up to my buddy on the building corner down the street, I would have been happy to share! LOL
(I would love for you to come back to visit, so please SUBSCRIBE using one of the buttons I have up there at the top on the left. And be sure to find me on Facebook for behind the scenes stuff and general goofiness. I’m on Twitter, too, but be warned – I have been known to accidentally tweet-bomb during baseball season!)

Love gargoyles, great shots 🙂
