On Cherokee Street, in St. Louis, you will find a fantastic assortment of vintage specialty stores, antique merchants, resale shops, bistros, coffee shops, record stores, and book sellers. If you like it vintage, Cherokee Street is where it’s at.
This is a gorgeous doorway on one of the historic homes on the street. All the buildings are old, with wonderful warm brick and many of the original accoutrements are still in use – the old light fixtures, doors, windows, etc. I thought this doorway, which opens right on to the main street, was just beautiful and had the perfect Film Noir feel to it. I can just envision Humphrey Bogart lurking in the shadows, waiting to get his man.
