Bee Tree House (of HORROR! Hahaha)

I’m kicking off a week of some of my favorite Gothic(ish)-themed images. I love taking pictures with a Gothic or vaguely creepy tinge to them. I guess it’s a natural offshoot of my love of Film Noir and horror movies and all that. But, invariably, I’ll take a beautiful picture of something and try to turn it into a horror show. Most people don’t ever see them, but I do it. LOL

Today’s shot is from the beautiful Eugene Nims Mansion in Bee Tree County Park. This beautiful historic home was built in 1929 and is preserved today by the parks department. But, of course, I see it and find the inherent creepiness.

Bee Tree House

This is taken from the vantage point of a hidden little grotto, beneath the back patio and facing the Mississippi River. It just doesn’t get creepier than a grotto to me. That stone edifice reaching up to the sky? C’mon! Gothic! Tell me you can’t just see Christopher Lee beckoning from that balcony…
