The Monday Morning “Goodwill Hunting” Report (Tuesday Edition)

Hey, guys, I’m glad to be back with you. I know the events of last week are still weighing heavily on the hearts of all of us across the country. For me, there is some comfort in routines and hobbies and projects. So, with that, I’m here with the Monday Morning Goodwill Hunting Report – Tuesday edition!
I finally had to go out this weekend to get some serious Christmas shopping done. I’ve been putting it off and putting it off because I hate regular shopping – like at malls and stores and all that. I knocked a huge chunk of it out and I rewarded myself with my thrift-store stops. And I got lucky with some great finds, including something perfect for the MASTER BEDROOM!

If you can believe it, there’s even a Christmas present in there. LOL More on that in a sec. First, let’s take a look at what I scored this week!

I picked up this smaller charging station, with the cute little file drawer detail on it. I’m going to try it out on my nightstand and see it it fits better than the one I’m using. See, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note (the I, not the II) and it’s huge! Too big for standard phone slots. LOL I love it, but it is really big. But, either way, there will be one charging station for me and one for stock. And best of all? That little puppy was $2.98!

I was thrilled to find this men’s cotton demin button-down shirt for $3.99! It’s, like, an XXL and is perfect for a work shirt, or throw over a t-shirt and leggings. THE HUBSTER wasn’t quite as thrilled, but pooh, who cares? It’s huge and comfy and I wore my last one out!

I was even more tickled to find two more skirts for my ever-growing boho/peasant skirt collection! And in the shorter lengths! The brown one is above the knee and the red and yellow one hits right at the knee! And for $5 a piece!

I picked up these cute hooks for a $1 a piece. I’m seeing a need for more DECK WOOD already…

I picked up four pairs of these black stretchy gloves for $1 a piece, as well. They were new with tags at one of my Goodwills (they had a bin full of them), so I’m probably going to use them as stocking stuffers. Both my boys have their own cars, The Hubster has a 60-mile commute each day, and The Girl Child having activities before or after school most days, I want them to have emergency winter supplies in their cars or, in my daughter’s case, her backpack. These fit the bill perfectly.

Speaking of Christmas, this is the “gift” I mentioned earlier! It’s easily three inches thick and I picked it up for $.50. There is a story behind this, by the way! Everyone in our family is a voracious reader – except Little Brother. But, ever since they were little, I’ve always bought them a book at Christmas. This year, LB forbid me from buying him a book, but I decided to buy him the biggest book of literature I could find. Worst comes to worst, The Hubster and I have another reference book for our jammed-packed shelves and something new to read! LOL

I was so excited to find these at Red Racks thrift store, brand-new in boxes, for $4.98 a set! (I took one set out of the box, so you could see them more clearly.) These curtain rod brackets will be awesome for my curtains in my bedroom window and tie in with the curtain I want to put across my closet! Plus, they go great with the ARCHITECTURAL SHELVES I already have hung up! Score!

This clock is so cool and so heavy! It’s going to be perfect on my back deck, on the other side of the door from the SUN & MOON I picked up a couple months ago! This was my priciest item, ringing up at $10, but c’mon, still a steal! It’s almost perfect! One of the little silver scrollwork thingys is loose, but a screwdriver and a touch of Gorilla Glue and it’ll be good as new! My deck is going to be so nice this spring! Can. Not. Wait!
And this was my thrifty-chic fashion for the weekend! Hat and bag I got at the Strangefolk Festival, jacket at a garage sale for $2, skirt, shirt, and scarf at Goodwill for a total of about $10. LOL

So, in addition to getting the vast majority of my Christmas shopping done, I came home with a decent haul for me, as well! I gotta say, that was pretty nice! Are you all done with your shopping? Wrapping? Ugh, I haven’t even started on the wrapping yet!

(I would love for you to come back to visit, so please SUBSCRIBE using one of the buttons I have up there at the top on the right. And be sure to find me on Facebook for behind the scenes stuff and general goofiness. I’m on Twitter, too, but be warned – I have been known to accidentally tweet-bomb during baseball seasonl!)

You are too cute! and good finds. BTW, is LB sick or something?? Who wouldn't love getting a book for Christmas! I've even bought them for myself, one of my favorite gifts. Great lit book. Wouldn't mind that sitting in my living room.

Your shirt find reminds me of this shirt (a must-read for you. lol)

HI Kristy, Thank you so much for linking up with Weekly Goals. Trying to get it off the ground. Really appreciate you coming by. I love Scotland. It is so beautiful there. I went to Aberdeen but we rented a car and traveled literally all over it. We ventured into the small town and went into the little taverns and restaurants to meet the locals. We had a blast in a little town , I think it had the name John in it. If I remember I will let you know. Fun little tiny fishing village. How cute!! Please stop by anytime. Again, thank you so much. HOpe to see you next week at Weekly Goals linkup. 🙂
